This green smoothie bowl was good!
This smoothie bowl is absolutely delicious. Plus, it’s simple (as always), requiring just 10-15 minutes to make, and entirely customizable. I provide a basic round-up of ingredients for you to start with so you can then experiment and make this bowl your own.
The basic idea, in my opinion, is to make a slightly thicker, more nutritionally dense smoothie (with things like avocado and berries, or nut butters), and then top it with healthy ingredients like slices fruit, more berries, different types of seeds, coconut chips. You get the drift!
This green smoothie bowl made with avocado, spinach and blueberry was:

Dark Green
Thick & Creamy
Sweet with a Neutral Taste

Ingredients list
For the ultimate green smoothie bowl combination you’ll need the following plant-based ingredients:
- Fruits: banana, avocado, grapefruit, mandarin
- Vegetables: frozen spinach, carrot, celery, fennel
- Boosters: cardamom powder, cinnamon powder
- Others: fennel seeds, basil leaves, Himalayan salt
- Water
Pro Tip: You can use either fresh or frozen spinach, berries or banana. For a refreshing and creamy smoothie bowl, use at least one of the above as frozen.
My ideal green smoothie bowl is:
Packed with healthy plants that bring lots of health benefits.
Has natural sweetness without adding anything but fruit.
Delicious, think and creamy, and ready to be served with a spoon.
Loaded with healthy fats and not too sweet, balanced and just right.
Easy to make and made by only using whole foods.
Free of additives or other unhealthy stuff, because we deserve the best!
Make this smoothie bowl yours with toppings
When it comes to toppings, a few of my favorites include:

- Seeds: hemp seeds, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds are great in smoothie bowls
- Nuts: cashews, walnuts, pecans
- Fresh Fruit: banana slices, apple slices, pomegranate seeds
- Dried Fruit: raisins, dates, figs
- Others: coconut chips, dark chocolate, cashew butter, almond butter

Avocado Spinach Blueberry Green Smoothie Bowl
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 2 big avocados (skin and seed removed)
- 80-100 g frozen spinach
- 3 carrots (skinless)
- 6 tbsp frozen blueberries
- 1/2 grapefruit (skinless)
- 2 mandarins (skinless)
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 big stalk fennel
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- a few basil leaves
- 1/3 tsp Himalayan salt
- 500 ml water (enough water to blend easily)
- decorated with frozen berries (raspberries and blueberries)
Instructions
- Add everything into your blender. Add enough water to level everything but not too much since we want to obtain a thick and creamy texture.
- Blend on medium speed until you obtain the desired consistency. Use the pulse function a few times if you have troubles pureeing everything.
- Serve fresh or store in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Notes
- Color: dark green, muddy green
- Texture: creamy
- Taste: sweet neutral taste, general vegetable taste with cinnamon and cardamom flavor
Make sure that you add enough water to obtain that creamy and thick smoothie bowl texture. Add less water initially and continue to add as the blender processes the ingredients.
What a delicious smoothie bowl treat! Looks super healthy and full of “good-for-you” plants 🙂 I absolutely love those frozen raspberries, my all time favorite berries!
