This smoothie will keep you nourished and happy in those hot summer days. Works great as a breakfast replacement, a healthy treat or a quick recovery drink after a long day in the park.

When it comes to making smoothies, I always emphasize that making your own smoothies it’s not rocket science. If I can do it, you can do it too. It’s just a matter of being prepared with a recipe that you feel great about, a decent blender and a lot of plants. And I mean a lot of different fruits, veggies, or spices, that will inspire you to start blending.

With this in mind, let’s look closely at this smoothie.

Freshly made refreshing Berries Revitalizer Smoothie.

The main ingredient here are berries, lots of berries. Actually, all kinds of berries are equally great in smoothies because they have a low sugar content, they come with phytonutrients and antioxidants and can easily be mixed with different veggies and still taste great. Berries are one of those ingredients that you should use in your smoothies as often as possible.

Yes, berries may be the highlight of this smoothie but there are many other ingredients that make it a winner. Let’s see … there’s spinach and broccoli in there, as well as avocado. There’s celery and fennel, plus red beet and banana. Wait, there’s more! I’ve also included chia and hemp seeds for a boost of superfoods, as well as 2 of my favorite spices, ginger and turmeric powder.

This smoothie is simply amazing. It’s:

Full of berries
Easy to prepare
& Fun
Great dessert or breakfast
Sweet and a bit sour
& with a spicy ginger aftertaste
Creamy
Nourishing

Notes

Feel free to mix your berries the way you like them or maybe only use 1 or 2 kinds of berries, if that's what you like. I had all kinds of leftovers berries in my fridge so that’s why I chose to mix them like this.
I haven’t used any coconut oil for this smoothie. The same is true for salt, although you could add a pinch of Himalayan salt if you want.
The texture is also perfect for a smoothie bowl.
