What are fat bombs?

Chocolate fat bombs are an irresistible dessert, especially for chocoholics like myself. As their name suggests, they are loaded with healthy fats and chocolate while being low in sugar (no added sugar, of course!).

Since fat bombs are all about healthy fats and no sugar, it can be a little tough to get the recipe right when you cut sugar out. Don’t worry because I’ll show you my secrets to making these delicious fat bombs sweet without added sugar.

Chocolate Fat Bombs Ingredients

These delicious chocolate fat bombs with nuts and banana are prepared using the best raw cacao solids (cacao mass and butter), plus extra virgin coconut oil, a selection of raw nuts, plus raisins and banana.

Here’s what you’ll need to make these chocolate fat bombs at home:

  • cacao mass & cacao butter – both add a rich cacao taste but also help to harden these fat bombs.
  • extra virgin coconut oil – adds plenty of healthy fats, makes fat bombs creamy, and helps them solidify in the fridge.
  • raw nuts – I used walnuts and hazelnuts. These nuts come with plenty of healthy fats, protein, fiber and micronutrients, but they also add crunchiness to the mix.
  • banana – adds natural sweetness and a special flavor that balances all those healthy fats.
  • raisins – similar to bananas, raisins will add natural sweetness and a special rich flavor that matches the nuts used.
  • spices – I used cinnamon and vanilla powder. Both these spices will add a subtle, but special, flavor that balances the chocolate taste.

How do you make chocolate fat bombs

Just a few ingredients and 10 minutes of your time, after which they go into the fridge for a few hours, until they become solid.

They’re so easy to make and everyone will love them, guaranteed! These are the steps to follow:

  1. In a double boiler, mix cacao mass and cacao butter with extra virgin coconut oil and spices.
  2. Once the chocolate paste is ready, you’ll have to let it cool down for a few minutes.
  3. In a ceramic dish, add nuts, raisins, and banana slices.
  4. Next, slowly pour chocolate paste on top of everything, and move tray into the fridge to harden.
  5. That was it! I’ve told you it’s pretty easy.

Tips for making this recipe perfectly!

  • Tips for chocolate paste. The chocolate paste that you’ll be preparing should end-up being thick and creamy, but not solid. Leave the chocolate paste to reach room temperature before continuing with the recipe.
  • Store fat bombs in the fridge. When done, these fat bombs will end-up having a soft texture, which means that you’ll have to keep them in the fridge most of the time.
  • Don’t add too many extras. Keep in mind that adding too much banana will break down the texture of these fat bombs. The same will happen if you add too many nuts or raisins.
  • Want to make them a bit more solid? If you want to store these fat bombs outside of the fridge for longer, use only half of the coconut oil and replace the other half with cacao mass or cacao butter.

I hope you’ll come to appreciate these homemade chocolate fat bombs with banana and nuts as much as we did! If you make them, I’d so love if you could leave a comment and rate the recipe. Enjoy these fat bombs and stay healthy!

Sending positive vibes towards you. Yes, You!
Until next time … Don’t forget to share these chocolate fat bombs with someone your love!

Banana, raisins, walnuts, hazelnuts, chocolate and ev coconut oil…. Some of my favorite cookie ingredients in a single recipe!? That’s something!
I love the firm texture, considering all these ingredients combined together … and I’m quite curious how my version will turn out.
