I love this sweet and spicy springtime smoothie because it’s full of flavor and looks amazing. It’s also packed with real nutrients and perfect to boost your immune system in the springtime.

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber fabio
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1.5 avocado (skin and seed removed)
  • 1.5 banana (peeled)
  • 1/2 grapefruit (3 slices, skin included, organic)
  • 200 g frozen spinach
  • 1/2 red beet (skin removed, cut big)
  • 1/2 stick celery
  • 3-4 tbsp frozen sea buckthorn
  • 1 big tsp ginger powder
  • 1 big tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 big tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
  • 600 ml water (or enough to cover the ingredients)

Instructions

  • Add everything into your blender, including water.
  • Blend on medium to high until everything looks smooth and creamy. If it looks too thick, just add more water and blend again until creamy.
  • Serve fresh or store in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Notes

  • Color: red to orange
  • Texture: well mixed, just ok
  • Taste: spicy and a bit sweet, with a spicy aftertaste

Avoid using the skin of conventionally grown citrus fruits due to a high risk of pesticide residues that may be present. Either use organic citrus fruits or remove skin (washing doesn’t help in this case).
This smoothie was super rich in nutrients and felt fresh and super healthy.
