This delicious and creamy nice cream packs a refreshing cacao and berries taste that isn't like anything you've tasted before. It’s loaded with healthy fats and low in sugar, creamy and so full of flavor that your body will thank you for it.

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 3 big bananas (peeled)
  • 1.5 medium avocado (skin and seed removed)
  • 7-8 tbsp frozen blackberries
  • 2 tbsp cacao butter (or 3-4 squares dark chocolate)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 slice lemon (organic, skin on)
  • pinch of Himalayan salt
  • decorate with cacao beans and hemp seeds
  • no liquid added

Instructions

  • Add everything into your blender.
  • Blend on medium to high until everything looks smooth and creamy.
  • Serve fresh or store in the fridge for 1-2 days.

Notes

I used an organic lemon and so I included the lemon skin. If you plan on using a conventionally grown lemon, make sure to remove the skin in order to avoid pesticide residues that are often found in the skin of conventionally grown citrus fruits.
You can successfully replace blackberries with blueberries, just make sure they’re on the sweet side (as were my blackberries). After all, our goal is to make a sweet dessert and using sour berries will certainly not help much.

What is nice cream anyway?

A nice cream is a dairy-free dessert made by mixing together pieces of frozen fruit and creamy fruits like avocado, in a food processor or high-speed blender. The reason it’s called “nice cream” is because it mimics the classic ice cream, but in the same time it’s better in terms of nutrients (some people say it’s even much more delicious).

Besides being dairy-free, nice creams are always prepared using real food ingredients. We aren’t using additives or preservatives, color or flavor enhancers, strange powders and certainly we aren’t using sugar or sugar substitutes of any kind.

You can make it as simple or as delicious as you want, using many different plant-based flavor combinations and boosters.

The whole point of making nice cream is to obtain that rich and creamy texture that classic ice cream has, while keeping it really healthy and vegan in the same time.

You’ve guessed it! Nice-creams are healthy and delicious!

What makes our Ultimate Creamy Nice Cream special?

This nice cream is the perfect recipe to make when you want a sweet and simple non-dairy ice cream. It’s naturally sweet and low in carbs, comes packed with good-for-you nutrients and it’s plain delicious.

The base is made up from a combination of banana, frozen berries and avocado … and let me tell you that this combo is simply amazing!

Next, I used a few of the superfoods that I’m constantly adding to my desserts or smoothies. Think cacao butter, chia seeds and hemp seeds, all in the same recipe, which is pretty cool.

This recipe wouldn’t be complete without a pinch of Himalayan salt and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Pour into a bowl and decorate on top with chopped cacao beans and more hemp seeds. These extras will help balance the overall taste and are a nice way to squeeze-in a few more real nutrients.
