Let’s discuss a bit about what love really is and the misunderstood concept of love in our so-called “modern” society (read “materialistic”). In this Health Minute article I will make a modest attempt to explain the concept of love from a spiritual perspective.
I would like to try and discuss love, not by saying what love is, but mainly by eliminating some of the things that I believe we wrongfully associate love with.
Love is definitely a word that was abused for so long that we’ve forgotten the true meaning of Love … I’m talking here about real love, not the manufactured concept of love, as it’s presented in mass-media for instance.
Love is not what it’s being portrayed by the movie industry either. I would like to clarify that love is not, by any means, related to having sex or sexual relationships for that matter. Also, we aren’t talking here about “falling in love”, because that is not what true love is all about.
Lately the concept of love has been connected with sexual pleasures of the body, but love is not about sexual attraction or any kind of sexual pleasures.
Love is not a way of thinking, a religion, a mantra, or even a spiritual path. Love is not a guru, and is not related to someone or something.
Love should not be linked to things, events, places, experiences, or sensations in the body.
Love is not a way towards obtaining something material. Love is not related to gifts, objects, vacations, parties or a marriage certificate.
Love is not about having a partner, a husband or a wife, whom you care about. Love should not be interpreted as an attachment to someone else or a pet.
The concept of love should not be used as a means of escaping certain mind-induced traumas or fears.
The word “love” has been hijacked in our so-called “modern” society, so much that we had completely forgotten the true meaning.of love.
Love should not be conditioned by perceptions or interpretations of the mind. Identification with the mind cannot point to love and it is not love.
Love is not something that one can buy from a store. It does not work like this 🙂
Now that we have an idea of what love is not, I will make an attempt of explaining the concept of love in a.more graceful manner. I will try to guide the conversation by giving you hints related to what I believe that love may be (or I dare to say .. what love is?!).
Love is your true essence that lives in your soul.
Love is the nature and everything around you, and your awareness of it in any particular moment.
Love is not related to the sadness that you feel when someone is not close to you anymore, but the joy of realizing the deep connection that you had and still have.
Love is realizing that trees have roots that go on for long distances below what we call the surface of the earth. Love is in every leaf from every branch of every tree in every place on this planet.
Love is in every bug that lives below and above the surface of our planet. Love is also present in every animal, insect or bird that breathes and lives here and now.
Love is the smell of the forest in any day, not only on a certain day, and even when you’re not close to the forest.
Love is the acceptance that all is, instead of asking technical questions which is what the mind will try to do.
Love is the simple realization that we are here and now, and that we have a.purpose. Love is the realization that we are living our purpose.
Love is in every breath that you take every morning when you wake-up from sleep. Love is the realization that you wake-up from sleep. How does that even work, technically speaking? Not knowing how this works but trusting that it will happen, this points you into the direction of love.
Love is knowing deep inside you that you can heal your body without effort, and that you are healing yourself in every moment. Love is the God created body that you have, and that you are using to observe (live in) the beauty of this world.
Love is the innocence of your thoughts when you are not allowing stress to interfere. Love is the creativity that you gracefully allow to take part in your life, even for a few.minutes each day.
Love is the kindness in your eyes and in everyone’s eyes.
Love is the opposite of the fear that is instilled within us as we get older.
Love is the realization.that we can outlive all our fears within a single moment, and that we can live our life from the energy and the emotion of pure love.
Love is calmness, being gentle and peaceful, in harmony and at ease, with everyone and everything.
Love is being aware.of your other self, your deep self, your true self, and realizing this in a single moment. Live from.that pure essence and you are now living love.
It is that simple to be in love of life by simply being in love with everything. Start experiencing love by allowing yourself to observe everything in and around you. Be present and at ease in every moment, and you are now being in love.
Love is the knowing that you are here and now.
Love is in every child, in every moment, without them making any kind of effort. Observe how children do not judge or put labels on anything or anyone.
Love is simple, and pure, and in harmony. It does.not cost anything to experience love or to be love. In fact you and me and everyone else, we all have it … we all have love but we aren’t taught to know this.
Love is God, The Field, The Divine Matrix, The All Being. Love is everywhere, in us and around us.
Love is Life.
Love is the Knowing.
Love is Us. We are Love.
