This smoothie will keep you nourished and happy in those hot summer days. Works great as a breakfast replacement, healthy treat or as a recovery drink after a long day in the park.

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 400 g mixed berries (blueberries + blackberries + strawberries + raspberries)
  • 50 g frozen spinach
  • 1 big avocado (skin and seed removed)
  • 1 big banana (skin removed)
  • 1 red beet (skin removed, chopped)
  • 2 handful frozen broccoli
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds + hemp seeds
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 slice fennel
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 600-700 ml water

Instructions

  • Add everything into your blender, including water.
  • Blend on medium to high speed until everything looks smooth and creamy.
  • Serve fresh or store in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Notes

  • Color: very dark purple
  • Texture: thick, very creamy, eat with a spoon
  • Taste: sweet taste of berries + spicy ginger aftertaste

Feel free to mix your berries the way you like them and feel free to only use 1 or 2 kinds of berries, if that's what you like. I had all kinds of leftovers berries in my fridge so that’s why I chose to mix them like this.
I haven’t used any coconut oil for this smoothie. The same is true for salt, although you could add a pinch of Himalayan salt if you want.
The texture is also perfect for a smoothie bowl.
